The Mughals continued the Persian tradition of striking coins in a traveling court mint, the "Camp Associated with Victory". Most of the coins of Akbar struck at Urdu Zafar Qarin mark the Muslim millennium in 1591, with the date written out as Alf, for "one thousand".
