Pudukkottai – Martanda Bhairava Tondiman (1886–1928 AD), Copper Amman Kasu, 1.29 g.
Obv: Features Goddess Brihadhambaal (the presiding deity of the Thondaimaan rulers of Pudukkottai) seated in a formal yogic posture.
Rev: Features the Telugu legend "Vijaya" (Victory) in bold script.
The "Amman Kasu" is one of the most recognizable issues of the Pudukkottai State. These small copper coins were often distributed during the Navaratri festival at the Brihadhambaal Temple. Despite their small size, they carry significant cultural weight, representing the deep spiritual connection between the Thondaimaan dynasty and their tutelary goddess.
