Mughal - Akbar - Silver Square Rupee - AH 1008 - Bangala Mint - Kaab-e-Roushan - Couplet

Mughal, Akbar (AH 963-1014, 1556-1605 AD), Silver Square Rupee, AH 1008, 11.22 gms, 18.4 x 18.2 mm, Bangala Mint (fully visible at bottom on obv), "Kaab-e-Roushan" Couplet.

This silver square rupee was issued by Mughal Emperor Akbar from the mint Bangla in the Hijri year 1008; 

The obverse of this coin is inscribed as “sikka-e-Bangala zan dilkhwah shud, kab-e-raushan zarb Akbar Shah shud”, (Meaning: The Coin of Bangla Became Pleasing from the Fact That Its Honour Lay in Being Struck by Akbar. 

The reverse of this coin is inscribed with Arabic legends The Kalima Shahada.
